BSD An offer you can (not?) refuse, in the eyes of Halacha.
Case 1: Reuven’s stonewall fell into the garden of his neighbor, Shimon. Instead of clearing away the stones, Reuven tells Shimon that he can keep the stones for himself and do as he wishes with them. Is that a workable deal, or can Shimon force Reuven to clear away the stones?
Case 2: Barnie employed Charlie to collect straw. At the end of a hard workday, Charlie is told that instead of being paid in cash (as was assumed), he’d just get to keep the straw for himself. Assuming that the value of the straw is equal to his salary, does Charlie have to accept the straw or can he refuse and insist on receiving cash?
