BSD Continuing the topic of a worker eating from the field’s fruit while working.
Question: Is this right to eat defined as a raised salary or as a gift from God? We find a few practical differences between the two definitions: 1) If it’s a salary, it’s the workers financial right and he can thus transfer it to other people. Otherwise no. 2) If it’s his salary, he can sometimes extend it beyond the accepted conditions (i.e. after it’s ready for ma’aser). Otherwise no. 3) If it’s his salary, he owns the rights over the eating and can exchange the fruit rights for hard cash money (even if he brings his own helpers, he can change THEIR eating into cash). Otherwise no.
