BSD Triangle Kiddushin. May a woman become mekudeshes without receiving money? Can a man be mekadesh without giving money? This is only possible if there is a third party in the Kiddushin act (not in the actual marriage!!). I.e. a woman may ask a man to give the money to a third party instead of to her, and in return she will willingly become his wife. This is similar to a guarantor who doesn’t receive any money and yet is committed to the lender.
Also, a third party may give money to a woman in order that she will become mekudehses to the man (i.e. Shimon gave money to Rachel so she should become Reuven’s’ wife). Although the man/bridegroom didn’t spend the money, the woman is his, since money was given to her and she is a willing and aware partner.
