Allowing a barber to give you that kind of non-kosher cut is strictly forbidden (even if you are passive), and if you are the barber then your liability is even more severe. Another issue discussed in this shiur is pulling out hair in order to demonstrate sorrow over a dead person, or scratching one’s body for the same purpose. Both are Torah prohibitions.
