Corona Update

To our sorrow, under the new rules implemented by the State of Israel under the guidance of the Ministry of Health, we are forced to shutter our Beis Medrash. The Beis Medrash will be closed until it is again legal for Jews to pray in their own house of worship.
It is still legal for 10 men to gather in an open space to pray. If you feel the chairman should be doing more to facilitate public prayer in the courtyard of Ahavas Shalom, please contact me at lev@ahavasshalom.org

As soon as the rules are lifted, look for our Beis Medrash to reopen. We’ve included the current davening schedule in the newsletter so that you can be prepared.

Reminders:

  • The Beis Medrash will be closed all Shabbos. While the lockdown was only supposed to last one week, it has obviously been extended. We will open the doors the moment the lockdown has ended.
  • American Friends of Ahavas Shalom Inc. (a 501c3 Corporation in New York State) is now up and running. Donations are deductible as per the USA Tax Law. See www.ahavasshalom.com for details about donations.
  • Contact Mrs. Miriam Zakoo, the Ahavas Shalom Administrative Secretary, to pay your membership dues or make a donation to the Kehilla.
