Due to the continued government-imposed lock-down, it will be difficult for first-borns to take part in a siiyum, which would therefore obligate them to fast until Kiddush at the Seder.

To help alleviate this, Ahavas Shalom has packaged a learning program to enable you to complete mesechtas Makos Yerushalmi in just a few minutes of study over the period of 4 days.

There are a few ways of doing this.

  1. Download the document: Makos Yerushalmi for Taanis Bechoros – divided into 4 days of study. The mesechta has been divided up into 4 days of study. There are about 10 pages per day, with each page containing about TWO or THREE MINUTES of reading.
  2. Listen to the Audio Shiurim recorded by Rabbi Moshe Dovid Cohen. The playlist is below. You can follow along by reading the Hebrew text in your own Makos Yerushalmi, or download the text here: Full Hebrew Text.

Once completed, you can host your own siyum in your home!

As per Rav Avrohom Baruch Zachariash: To have a proper siyum, one should either:

  1. Read all the Hebrew text in the document, and then understand the text by reading the accompanying English.
  2. Listen to all the text as read by Rabbi Moshe Dovid Cohen in the shiurim below.

The Hadran and Kaddish are not required.

Thank you to RBSsemicha.com for allowing us to use their SoundCloud account to host the shiurim.
